Fountain on Anton-Bruckner-Allee built in 1968. It has since been renovated and, after a long break, has been bubbling again since 2021.

If you sit drinking Bionade on the banks of the Elster flood bed today, little reminds you of the history of the Wagner grove. The city of Leipzig had planned to erect a monument to Richard Wagner. A monument designed by Max Klinger in 1904 was never completed. In 1932, a monument competition was announced for a monument that was to be built on the Elsterwiese. After the National Socialists took power, the Mayor of Leipzig declared on the 50th anniversary of Wagner's death in February 1933 that the project would be continued. From around 600 drafts submitted, the sculptor Emil Hipp was awarded the contract. A national monument should now be erected. The monument itself should consist of relief panels, without being a figurative representation. The foundation stone was laid in 1934. The horticultural implementation was completed in 1936. However, the memorial plaques were not completed by Emil Hipp until 1944. It was no longer listed because the city refused to take it over after the end of the war. Instead, Hipp sold the records individually to Wagnerians.

A nice place for a break or picnic with a view of the White Elster. It can get very crowded here in summer, but it is always very idyllic.
