The Werbeliner See nature reserve is a beautiful destination. Here you can relax, unwind, and enjoy some wonderful nature observation. !BUT BE CAREFUL - THE LAKE IS NOT A SWIMMING LAKE! To protect the biodiversity that has developed here, leaving the paths and therefore swimming is prohibited in the 1,500-hectare reserve. The nearby Schladitzer See is a good alternative for anyone looking for a place for water-based recreational activities. The area is one of the largest and most important nature reserves in Saxony. Special species such as wolves, sea eagles, otters, beavers, and, above all, a nationally outstanding bird population have settled here.
