With its spectacular, steep coastal path, this area is the ideal destination in the early morning when the sun rises over the sea. But a walk or jog in the evening sunset is of course just as romantic. The cliffs in Nienhagen are experiencing an unstoppable, constant decline due to nature. The reason for this is the phenomenon of steep slopes with high slope stability. This type of cliffs otherwise only includes cliff sections on the Bay of Lübeck, on the island of Poel, Fischland and the Wittow peninsula on Rügen: a special natural phenomenon!

The cycle path along the coast is also good for racing bikes when the weather is good. I wouldn't do it when it's raining. It can get soggy. The rest area is of course great with the view.

Very nice path along the approx. 6 meter high cliff between Kuehlungsborn and Heiligendamm. Either you choose the path down on the beach or the hiking trail above the cliffs through the forest. The beach below is mostly rocky.

The oak, beech, hornbeam and ash trees are 90 to 170 years old. They are relatively far apart. Little or no shrubbery grows between them - plenty of room for light and shade. For decades, the salty, damp Baltic Sea wind and the many storms have shaped the appearance of the forest.
