At a crossroads lies the memorial to Johannes Paulsen, who was murdered at this spot in 1668 and lived in Eyll.

Great views from up here. A very large plateau of slag heaps. I recommend climbing the beautiful paths rather than the Stairway to Heaven.

This is the red version of the Sparkassen Trail on the Halde Norddeutschland. Look forward to big jumps that you can use to spice up your descent. But don't worry: you can easily avoid them. The cross commemorates Johannes Paulsen, who was murdered here on February 24, 1668. It is located at a crossroads next to some benches. A nice place to take a break, especially for families, as the kids can improve their bike control skills on a small off-road route during the break.

I was pleasantly surprised at how nicely the heap is laid out. On the one hand, the possibility to climb up the stairs or via different paths and then I found the huge meadow area on the plateau very beautiful. I can imagine it being fantastic when the weather is nice, when a lot of people fly kites there. Glider pilots and mountain bikers also get their money's worth, so there is something for everyone. Of course I enjoyed the great panoramic view :-)
