Going uphill is a challenge, but still manageable with a mountain bike. The single trail might be a bit too steep for beginners. When going downhill, please watch out for pedestrians/hikers who may be coming towards you. It is not possible to stop everywhere and at any time on the trail.

Small trail directly on the Steetsberg in (Niederense), uphill it is right next to the bridge on the left...it is easy to ride...halfway up it makes a sharp right turn exactly on the steepest incline, rooty...but completely rideable 👍🏽 at the top you have a beautiful view of Himmelpforten on the Möhne 👌🏼

Osthalde “local heritage” Ahlen is always worth walking, cycling and I personally like to enjoy the view in the morning around 7 a.m.

The path is probably being expanded so that we can enjoy this incredible view by bike... but we still rode down a very adventurous path. Definitely not an insider tip among mountain bikers. ⛰️🚵‍♂️

The colliery - i.e. the heap - is in transition. It's not that easy to get up there. There are construction fences and heavy equipment everywhere. Access is not possible. Everyone who wants to go there should inform themselves well beforehand so that the journey is not in vain.

When the weather is nice, you have a magnificent view from here

A grandiose vision

Osthalde of the former Westphalia colliery. Paths on the south side are now somewhat washed out. Not easy to take by bike. You can follow the Stations of the Cross on foot up to the plateau above and, when the weather is good, you will be rewarded with a wonderful view.
