Young and old alike love to visit the Sonnenkopf family and adventure mountain again and again. While the children have fun in the LEGENDARY BEAR LAND, the adults won't get bored either. In the Sonnenkopf panoramic mountain restaurant at almost 2,000 m above sea level, you will be spoiled with varied daily specials, hearty snacks and a large selection of cakes and ice cream sundaes. The descent is technically demanding with S3 in places. Therefore only recommended for experienced riders/XC fans. Uphill is not recommended, better alternative via Klösterle to Spullersee - for XC fans uphill is also possible almost without dismounting.

A single trip up the mountain now costs €26.

We rode the Steinbock-Weg (Stebok-Wäg) in mid-July 2023 after 2 days of heavy thunderstorms. The path was completely washed out and very difficult to ride in the first third, definitely S3 and definitely not S2. We pushed almost everything on this first section. The last two thirds are then easier (mostly S1 with many S2 sections) and still reasonably rideable for normal bikers. Anyone travelling with bike luggage on an Alpine crossing (Heckmair route or similar) should consider the descent from Spullersee to Klösterle as an alternative. This alternative is S1 in the upper third with S2 sections and very easy to ride downhill. There is an official driving ban, but there is also a driving ban sign at the very beginning of the "Stebock-Wäg" ....

This S2 passage has it all. We had a lot of fun but after 47 km in the bones it wasn't easy and this trail demands maximum concentration. We had to push a few short passages because it was wet and very stubborn.

You can also ride the Bärenweg with a MTB, it really puts you in a good mood 😂👍😎 Of course pay attention to hikers ☝️😉
