always exciting to drive through there

In summer it's a bit overgrown with blackberries and nettles. But it's still a nice place. The downhill part is very steep but it's really fun to ride. The uphill part is fun too.

Almost the only way to get directly to the water 💦

The yellow clinker brick building has stood on the Mulde for over 100 years. The former “lace factory Birkigt & Co.” had been producing beautiful textiles since 1907 using English innovative machines, which were sold under the “Plauener Spitze” brand. After 1991, the machines stopped rattling. The ensemble served as a warehouse. After the flood in 2013, youth revived the dilapidated industrial complex. The committed project “Village of Youth” fills the halls with joy of life and strives for self-sustaining youth work that is independently organized by and with young people. A café opens during the summer months. There is a bicycle repair shop, raised beds and a skate park. The rooms are intended to be available for events, musicians and exhibitions. Be careful, this very beautiful & tempting beach is really extremely clayey, you can see traces of people trying to clean their soles everywhere afterwards 😄
