Col des Alaris is a popular 2-km single-track red route located near Barcelonnette. This main mountain bike route is downhill only and has a fairly high overall physical difficulty.

We never get tired of it! Superb long single, with hairpins not too difficult to be fun and long rails where we can pick up speed, all seasoned with autumn colors

Black volcanic rock??? No, it is marl, therefore sedimentary, called here roubines (or robine, or elephant skin, or black earth)

Magnificent landscapes along the Terres Noires above Dignes. There are several mountain bike trails, including those "des chasseurs" and "Toboggans". The Ravin de la Condanasse, to the east of the segment, had a landslide and its crossing is not the easiest. The small mountain bike trail starting due south may be a good option to bypass this part for a few dozen meters.

To get to this trail you have to go up from Barcelonnette along a good forest road with beautiful views to the Col des Aralis and then you will simply continue on your mountain bike down. At the top it is steep with some tight bends, which will be slippery when wet. After that, it becomes smoother all the way back to the valley. The top part is a very steep and technical descent, with many hairpin turns. Some parts are very exposed.

Hiking/mountain biking trail at the base, but on the surface generally accessible in gravel with a little piloting technique. Some passages, especially in the scree require a little finesse but nothing impossible or dangerous. Your efforts will be rewarded with exceptional panoramas.

The black lands of the Badlands of Provence, present several courses all very playful. Here you move on a ridge, which allows you to have a great overview.

This section of path turns into a beautiful descent that runs along the Bau stream, passes close to the Notre-Dame chapel to arrive at the hamlet of Chateauneuf-lès-Moustiers.
