Waterfall in the Rogue River Gorge

The power of the Rogue River crashing through the basalt is well worth the stop. Longer hike routes along the Upper Rogue River trail are available from this trailhead.

In the early spring, the rushing waters of the Rogue River may obscure the features of Natural Bridge - where the waters briefly dip underground as they roar through a lava tube. The gate remains closed until early spring; you may have to hike in from the road if this is the case.

Tub Springs Wayside served as a rest stop for pioneers traveling on the Applegate Trail in 1846 before descending the mountain pass into Ashland. It's a wonderful location where you can take a break amidst the towering fir trees and breathe in the crisp mountain air. The name "Tub Springs" originated from the tubs that were installed in the 1930s to supply spring water to travelers. The tubs have been restored and are still in use today.

Mount McLouglin is one of the tallest peaks in Oregon. It is a dormant volcano that last erupted between 20,000 and 30,000 years ago. There are amazing views from the top of Sky Lakes Wilderness, Fourmile Lake, Lake of the Woods and Fish Lake.

Mount Ashland is the highest peak in the Siskiyou Mountains. In the winter, it is a ski resort, but in warmer weather it is a great place for a trail run. As you will be at the highest point in the area, you get great views of the valleys and nearby peaks.

With a height of 12 feet, Pearsoney Falls is by far not as impressive as the nearby Mill Creek Falls when it comes to size. But they are certainly as beautiful as their counterpart! This is a great waterfall for families as it only takes a really short and easy hike to reach the falls.

These Giant Boulders in the Rogue River cause a nice little cascade and if you are in the area, you should certainly visit this spot to spend some time at the river and enjoy the views of the water flowing below the nearby bridge.
