Photos do not capture the sparkling beauty of the Obsidian flows through this area. This culturally important rock was used to make arrowheads and for trade by the Native Americans living in the area; it is glassy in appearance and can be sharp to the touch. An excellent destination for those who love geology and history.

The lava flows and cones in this area feel otherworldly. Views of North and Middle Sister are an added bonus.

Cool shade, clear cold water and a delightful waterfall make this a perfect lunch point for the day.

At over 120 feet high and 300 feet wide Sea Lion Caves is the largest sea cave in the USA. Aside from the hundreds of sea lions that call it home you'll also see plentiful sea birds and at the right time of year migrating whales. This makes a good stop for those riding the 101 to have a break and enjoy a true gem of the Oregon Coast.

At 286 feet high, Salt Creek Falls is the second highest single drop waterfall in Oregon. A short walk from the parking area leads to an observation deck with excellent views of the falls. There is also a short, steep trail to the base of the falls.

Darlingtonia State Natural Site is a state park and botanical preserve located five miles north of Florence, Oregon, USA, on the U.S. Route 101, located west of Mercer Lake and south of Sutton Lake, is dedicated to the preservation of a rare plant.

Nestled along the Willamette River near the Washington Jefferson Street bridge, the Owen Rose Garden, spanning 8.5 acres, blooms in splendor. George E. Owen's generous donation in 1951 initiated its legacy, now a riverfront gem extending from Ferry Street Bridge to Valley River Center's Greenway bike bridge. With the initial gift of 750 roses by the Eugene Rose Society, this garden has blossomed into a splendid tapestry of over 4,500 roses, encompassing 400 diverse varieties. Its stewardship, including the dedicated efforts of Delta Rotary, has ensured its continued beauty. In addition to its magnificent roses, the garden proudly showcases the Oregon Heritage Cherry Tree, inviting open spaces, accessible walkways, a stately gazebo, and an exquisite collection of heritage and heirloom roses.
