There are plenty of parking spaces available here, and there are further open parking areas directly in front of and opposite the main road.

From this vantage point, there is an unobstructed view of the Oestertalsperre reservoir, which lies north of the Ebbe ridge in the Plettenberg area. It was completed in 1906 and has a capacity of 3.1 million cubic meters.

Due to drought and bark beetle infestation, a wide panorama of the Sauerland region has now opened up. From this vantage point, one can see the Ebbe valley towards Herscheid and as far as Hemer on the horizon.

The many tall spruce trees here no longer exist. They have all fallen victim to the bark beetle.

From here, you can't continue up to Nordhelle by car. Cars are not allowed to continue from here. In winter, it's probably a disaster to find a parking space here if you want to hike up to Nordhelle.
