The Seraing Arboretum boasts a rich collection of tree species, including a giant sequoia measuring approximately 38 meters tall with a circumference of 6.60 meters (approximately 2.10 meters in diameter). The giant sequoia is renowned for its ability to withstand impacts (its bark is approximately 3 cm thick) and was used in firebreaks because its moist bark provides good resistance to forest fires. There are also Vancouver firs measuring approximately 51 meters tall, though some have died standing. If you'd like to see for yourself, you can make the "lumberjack's cross," an easy and fun activity. Please respect the trees by not tearing the bark off the sequoia and by staying on the paths. We wish you a pleasant walk.

The gravel pit is a rich site for photography enthusiasts or walkers who wish to stroll along well-maintained paths and observe birds in peace. It's a recommended spot for walkers and photographers. Please respect the guidelines, such as keeping your dog on a leash (even if some people think it's harmless to let their dog off-leash, be aware that animals have predatory instincts, which could scare away certain ground-nesting bird species like kingfishers) and refraining from swimming so as not to disturb the birds. Thank you to everyone who respects the guidelines, and I wish you a pleasant hike or a great photo outing 🙏.

The complex originally consisted of four caves, some of which have now disappeared due to natural collapse and the proximity of quarries. The caves have been protected as cultural heritage in Wallonia since 1978 and have an exceptional status due to their scientific value. Although the caves themselves are currently not open to the public, the site remains an important archaeological and natural history location that visualizes the evolution of humanity.

The unique natural phenomenon of the Poudingue d’Ombret: a type of rock formed from deposits of river alluvium, approximately 395 million years old, with large stones surrounded by smaller sediments.

This is a cave I used to visit a long time ago. Before, you could start at the very bottom and work your way up to the top of the quarry. Now, I don't think that's possible anymore.
