🌉 The covered Nagold Bridge (often simply called the wooden bridge) in Wildberg is a real highlight for hikers and cyclists in the Northern Black Forest.

The market square with its half-timbered showcase houses, the Protestant church and the market fountain are all calendar motifs.

Calw's old town enchants with its colorful alleys, half-timbered houses, bridges, and history. Its most famous son was Hermann Hesse, whose footsteps can be found everywhere. The Nagold River flows through the town, adding the icing on the cake.

A nice bike path and actually predestined for a relaxed climb out of the Nagold Valley – were it not for the lower section. The much-needed bike path is missing on Herrenberger Straße. With so much traffic on one of the main thoroughfares, even those with thick skin can get queasy. Therefore, I prefer to ride uphill via the brutally steep Eisbergsteig to have complete peace and quiet. Alternatively, you could avoid Herrenberger Straße via the Kreuzertal- & Waldeckweg to at least avoid some of the traffic – but you'd have to endure a few meters of federal highway, which isn't so pleasant either. For the descent, however, this bike path is almost too narrow and confusing – so caution is advised! And at the end, you have to get back on the road anyway… Not ideal.
