As the longest and most beginner-friendly trail on Plan de Corones, it connects the mountain with Olang in the valley. The youngest trail on the Plan de Corones and at the same time the easiest. The Gassl Trail - which was opened in the summer of 2015 - meanders along the eastern slope of the mountain from the middle station of the OLANG 1 + 2 gondola over countless curves down to Gassl. Slight jumps, gently sloping berms and the varied lines do not distract from the fantastic panorama and are ideal for the first freeride introductory tours.

Unfortunately a very crowded area. We were there in September and the full parking spaces upstairs are off-putting. In the high season it is not possible to drive up by car. As soon as you move away from the main paths, it becomes quieter. In particular, the plateau next to the Strudelkopf is quiet and not as crowded as the summit itself. From the meadows on the plateau you can see the Three Peaks, the Rienz Valley in front of it and the gigantic mountain world of the Dolomites.
