...great trail – it has everything (good flow, switchbacks, jumps, roots, cross-country with postcard-perfect panoramas). However, I think the overall length and technicality of the trail make it a bit too challenging for beginners (who don't do alpine climbing every day).

Impassable. But great for hiking.

At 2069 metres above sea level, after the rather strenuous climb from the Capanna Alpina car park, a great view of the Sella massif opens up to us.

From the Capanna Alpina car park, you can reach the Col de Locia in about an hour's hike. The climb is quite strenuous. Once you reach the Col de Locia, you can enjoy a wonderful view of the Sella massif.

At my age you have to work for it, but it was definitely worth it. Even though I personally found the Gassl more flowing, the 5 guys who flew past me were definitely in the flow on the Herrnsteig 😅 ....

Everything is really easy to drive, the aforementioned 120 curves!
