"The Voralpe, or Voralm, is a mountain in the Ybbstal Alps in the border triangle of Lower Austria, Upper Austria, and Styria. The mountain has two main peaks: the 1,770 m (5,700 ft) high Stumpfmauer on the border between Lower Austria and Upper Austria, which drops steeply to the southeast; and further southwest, the 1,727 m (5,700 ft) high Tanzboden on the border between Lower Austria and Styria. The border triangle is located in the saddle between the peaks. The Stumpfmauer is the highest elevation in the Steyr-Land district. The Voralpe can be climbed from Hollenstein an der Ybbs or from Altenmarkt, partly via roads and partly via trails, in about three hours. The path through the Wasserlochklamm leads up past five waterfalls. The highlight is definitely the two-stage Schleierfall. Here the water plunges 67 meters down.

After heavy rainfall, the large waterfalls are magnificent in the Unesco Global Nature Park.

Beautiful summit cross - good footwear, which unfortunately is not the case for many hikers here, as many go up by train. However, the way to the summit is very rocky and rubble.

Although the Tamischbachturm has a long climb from Großreifling, it is an easy 2000er with endurance

Promau is located in the municipality of Hollenstein in the Amstetten district in Lower Austria. The pass connects Hollenstein in the northwest with Lassing in the east. Promau lies between the Göstlinger Mendlingtal and the Hollensteiner Hammerbachtal and Sandgraben. The valley train separates the Königsbergzug (1452 m) in the north from the Gamssteinzug (Hochkogel 1774 m) in the Ybbstal Pre-Alps. The route was an important transport route for iron ore pig iron in the early modern period. The Lower Austrian Eisenwurzen Nature Park documents the small iron industry with several systems. There are always old hammer mills with their distinctive chimneys along the route. The pass is not of great importance for cycling, but it is all the more scenic. The volume of traffic is almost zero, the road is narrow and leads through the valley in a wild and romantic way. From the top of the pass you have a nice view of the pre-Alps every now and then.
