Compared to the scattered boulders here on the upper path, I find the accumulation of boulders downhill from this spot in the Schweinbach Valley (near the Ernst Hepp Memorial Stone) more impressive. It more deserves the name "sea of rocks."

The market square with its half-timbered showcase houses, the Protestant church and the market fountain are all calendar motifs.

Calw's old town enchants with its colorful alleys, half-timbered houses, bridges, and history. Its most famous son was Hermann Hesse, whose footsteps can be found everywhere. The Nagold River flows through the town, adding the icing on the cake.

It is simply magical, romantic, and unspoiled!

Crossing the stream becomes an adventure, especially after rain or during floods. The mossy stones are extremely slippery and slick. It's not for nothing that the Monbach stream is divided into sectors by signs. If something does happen, emergency services know the best way to approach the accident scene.

During Easter time the fountain is beautifully decorated with colorful eggs and green branches!

The trail runs directly along the stream, which you cross repeatedly on large stones along the hike. Fun for all ages 😃
