Easily accessible on foot, gravel bike or mountain bike.

This hike takes you up a spiral path to a hill known as "Zur Luftstation" (To the Air Station). From there, you'll have a breathtaking panoramic view of Bern and the surrounding countryside. At the foot of the hill lies the grave of Paul Klee, adding to the artistic and historical significance of the location.

The Universal Postal Service monument, unveiled on October 4, 1909, is the work of the French sculptor René de Saint-Marceaux (1845 - 1915). It is made of granite and bronze and commemorates the founding of the organization in Bern. On the occasion of the 150th anniversary, a dedication was unveiled in front of the monument on October 9, 2024. Not a panoramic peak - but still worth seeing because of the monument to cantonal forester Kasthofer and his 68 Douglas firs, which have grown tall over 200 years and form a beautiful "Douglas fir sky".

The monument stands in a very cozy park. Not far from the Federal Palace, with a view of the Aare.

At the Schosshaldenfriedhof there is a hill "to the air station" that you climb in a spiral, always with a great view in all directions. At the foot of the hill is Paul Klee's final resting place.
