The Widi pond is located directly on the edge of the "Tannholz" forest. You can drive around the pond on foot or by bike - and then continue straight into the "Tannholz forest".

In the 16th century, millstones were broken in "Ober Bockstein" for a few years. However, these rather soft sandstones were not particularly suitable as grinding stones. The Wengimoos is a peat cut landscape (flat moor of national importance) with many small ponds and rich fauna and flora and is under nature protection. It is a relic from the last Ice Age and, as a wetland, forms a remnant of what was once a large moorland in the Limpach Valley. The descendants of Louis Gasser, the owner of the Rapperswil brickworks, sold 4 hectares of land to the Ala and so the area also bears the additional name Louis Gasser Reservat.
