The parking lot is on the narrow mountain ridge on the outside of the curve of district road 894 from Eidengesäß to Breitenborn. At first you only see a small parking area and a rest area, but if you drive a little further in, you come to a large parking lot.

Up until 1791, the important trade route from Frankfurt/Main to Leipzig ran over the ridge between Höchst and Wirtheim. The farmers from the places mentioned earned an extra income and harnessed their horses and oxen to the heaviest chassis to pull them over the mountain.
