フローシャイムの峡谷・トップ3

山の尾根の頂上は、楕円形の主郭によって囲まれています。元々は木材の梁で支えられた、石と土でできた巨大な壁で、高地の集落に保護を提供していました。今日では、この構造物は地形において、はっきりと認識できる、草に覆われた土塁として見ることができます。

地質学的に片岩や片麻岩の影響を強く受けているこの地域は、数百万年もの間、絶えず隆起を続けています。エムスバッハ川のような河川や小さな渓流は、この強い勾配を利用して、浸食に強い岩盤を深く掘り進んでいます。この深い浸食は、時折発生する豪雨によってさらに強化され、水の流れを増大させ、巨大な浸食力を生み出します。

Beautiful farm in the fields of Nordenstadt

Three kilometers north of the Wiesbadener Kreuz, the intersection of the A3 and A66 motorways, we walked a short distance in the footsteps of the Romans, who used the narrow hollow road (apparently "Hohlchen" in Hessian) to travel from Wiesbaden to their camp on the Hochfeld – today within the territory of the city of Hofheim. The "Rote Hohlchen" (Red Hollow) is now a Hessian cultural monument, having been filled in for some time and then uncovered a few years ago.

A path leads steadily uphill from Neuchâtel to near the Reichen Quelle. You walk above a small stream through a side valley partially surrounded by steep slopes on both sides. As of mid-December 2023: There was heavy snowfall on this section in November. That's why there are numerous trees on the path that are difficult to cross over or under. But it is doable.

Well, to describe this creek as a "gorge" is putting it on a bit thick. But it's nice here. And above m.E.n. even more beautiful and the "gorge" also much deeper 😉

Here the Heinerbach winds its way through the woods and has already cut quite deeply.
