The Bertrand F. Harrison Arboretum and Botany Pond are maintained by BYU and offer a place to enjoy wildlife on the campus. There is also a small collection of demonstration gardens.

Utah Lake State Park is home to Utah's largest freshwater lake and a handful of recreational opportunities. There are some roads and trails on the property that are great for flatter running, and you don't have to pay an entry fee if you just run to the park (but you do have to pay to park your car there).

The Utah Lake Shoreline Trail is a combination of paved roads, paved paths, and dirt roads. There are a few different places you can part to access the trail, but a lot of people choose to park at Utah Lake State Park, which requires a parking fee. The trail is pretty flat and has some great views of the lake, but it does pass by the airport runway on the southern end, which can be a bit noisy sometimes.

Emerald Lake is a stunning alpine lake located in the Wasatch Mountains. Hike through abundant forests to reach this emerald gem surrounded by breathtaking peaks.
