Located in between Highland and Cedar Hills, this little park has a pond in which you can kayak by your own means and have lunch afterward at the picnic tables. Little ducks and this natural oasis in the middle of the city make it the perfect place for a bite and a pic with the mountains as the background.

This lake is not visible from Nebo Loop Road, but it is worth making the out-and-back detour to the lake's edge if the gate at the start of the access road is open, which it usually is in the warmer months. You can check out McClelland Lake and Box Lake on the way. When you get to Big East Lake, you will find public restrooms, picnic tables and even BBQs. The lake is a popular fishing and kayaking destination with a campground on the south side of the lake.

Highland Glen Park has a playground, pavilions, and a beach volleyball court. The park also has a large pond that allows swimming, although there is not a lifeguard on duty.

The Bertrand F. Harrison Arboretum and Botany Pond are maintained by BYU and offer a place to enjoy wildlife on the campus. There is also a small collection of demonstration gardens.

Utah Lake State Park is home to Utah's largest freshwater lake and a handful of recreational opportunities. There are some roads and trails on the property that are great for flatter running, and you don't have to pay an entry fee if you just run to the park (but you do have to pay to park your car there).

Incredible views once you reach Silver Lake. Busy spot especially in the summertime, so be prepared for crowds on the trial and at the lake.
