Dude Lake is a pond in the middle of Little Manatee River State Park. It is a great spot for a stop, as there is a picnic area to the west of the lake, right by Powerline Road.

This trail was an old service road from when the park was a mine. The path ranges from a wide dirt road to a narrower single track. The road does a loop of the park and takes you through some beautiful wooded areas and past several small ponds.

The Golden Aster Scrub Nature Preserve is open daily from 8 a.m. to 6 p.m. This 1,181-acre nature preserve within the Bullfrog Creek Watershed offers free parking and several miles of marked trails. Dog-friendly, the preserve is home to armadillos, gopher tortoises, and snakes. Watch out for hogs at dusk or dawn.

Lithia Springs is a freshwater, natural spring with clear, cold, and peaceful water, perfect for swimming and fish-watching with goggles. A fee is required to swim, and there is a small fee for parking as well.

Lake Rogers Park is a popular spot for trail running and hiking just outside the city of Tampa. The trails in the park are singletrack dirt trails that circle around the lake. There are a few side trails near the park entrance, but the main trail that goes around the lake is the most popular for hiking.
