The Scaligero Castle of Villafranca di Verona is a castle of medieval origin. Inside the walls there are seven small towers called "Torresine" and two shielded towers, that is with only 3 edges. The largest or clock tower has stones with an inscription at its base and it is assumed that they came from an arch (or other building) dedicated to the emperor Tiberius. A curious peculiarity of the Scaligero Castle of Villafranca is that the battlements of the actual walls are of Guelph or flat shape, while the battlements of the keep and the shielded towers are of Ghibelline or "dovetail" shape.

Ring tour in Castel d'Ario

Impressive castle located in the old center of Villafranca di Verona where the walls and towers can be seen from the outside. Currently, however, the interior spaces host activities and concerts throughout the year.

Beautiful castle that is located at the pass through the small town of Castel d'Ario and from where you can see the whole of the exterior structure. Even so, the castle is not too well preserved and you can see the passage of time.

Piazza Nuvolari is one of the most important squares in the area, a visit is recommended to immerse yourself in the local village.
