The tower represents the only surviving part of an ancient medieval castle in the city of Chivasso.

If you go up from Gassino, along the Sp 97, you travel along a beautiful road with never excessive slopes, which winds through a beautiful countryside, even the traffic is not excessive. Very beautiful the view of the surrounding hills, suggestive the castle.

Castle born, as often happens, for defensive purposes in the thirteenth century and belonged to the Biandrate family for centuries. At the moment, after being converted into a country residence, it is owned by the Municipality and houses its offices.

Built in the 14th century by Martino di San Martino, lord of Rivarolo and Agliè. The castle was the scene of clashes between the family that owned it and the Valperga family. It is surrounded by a large park and today, owned by the Municipality of Rivarolo, it hosts numerous cultural events

Nice climb in the hills behind Gassino. Beautiful road with little traffic, never exaggerated slopes (maximum 8-9% for a few hundred meters) and with a beautiful view of the surrounding hills. The first 7 km are slightly uphill, with some rinsing, the remaining 4 km are a bit more demanding. At the top, in the Cinzano square, there is a fountain and a SMAT dispenser with free and sparkling fresh water (for a fee of € 0.05 for 1.5l with card).

Feudal fortress dating back to the 13th century. It was not a real castle, but a "stronghold" that is a military construction built to control the roads that developed at the foot of the hill and that led to Ivrea and Vische towards the Vercelli area On the open space in front of the fortress you can see the remains consisting of three roofless walls of the ancient Church of San Calocero, the primitive parish of Caluso, still existing in the sixteenth century.
