Monte Grosso is a peak located on the border between Tuscany and Liguria. There is an antenna at the top, but this does not obstruct the splendid sea view. This excursion is also possible in winter.

Its certainly a beautiful climb, but... Until the quarry everything is fine, but after that the was gets unclear. You have to guess where to go and only some little Polish flags, that are hardly visible lead the was through over the mountain. In addition you have to climb some parts to get to the top of the mountain. The pathfinding on the Bad trails above 800m above sealevel make this hike nothing for everyone and definitely harder then some well-groomed Swiss Alpine trails on higher elevation!

Going down towards the mouth of the Magra River, the panorama is very varied, with the port of Bocca di Magra in front and the Apuan Alps in the background.

Trekking. Ascended from Carrara, passing through Codena and Bergiola. Pay attention to the deviation after Bergiola on the right which is not well marked. For the rest, a nice path, almost entirely in the shade in the woods. Only the final part remains sunny. Breathtaking panorama upon arrival.
