Very recent, smart, short and steep path that allows you to reach the Soave castle on foot from Porta Aquila. It is outside the walls that in fact it runs along its entire route. The white wine of the same name, Soave, is named after the city. The place is said to have been founded around 500 AD by a tribe of the Suevi, from which the place name is derived. However, the area had already been inhabited during Roman times and was located on the important Roman road Via Postumia. The castle was first mentioned in documents in the 10th century. It belonged to the Sanbonifacio of Verona and passed to the Scaligeri in the 13th century. In the years that followed, Soave and its castle changed hands several times.
