The shelter was well-maintained and clean on the day of the visit and is one of the few in the area.

Beautiful shelter that offers us welcome shelter during an unexpected rain shower.

Quite useful for a snack and weather-related breaks.

This former watermill was built in the 17th century and competed with the older Lukasmühle further down the valley. Destroyed by flames in 1982 - rebuilt and badly damaged in the 2021 flood. Open again on weekends since summer 2023. The gable on the main house is dated 1663. Beautifully restored quarry stone half-timbered building.

A few years ago, some pensioners always met at the hut and made it a little more homely, planted flower beds and so the hut became a forest rest and is known far and wide

Nice old refuge from 1962 and always good for a little rest ;-)

The refuge was built in 1962 by the North Eifel Nature Park Association. It is very well maintained and offers protection as well as a good opportunity to take a break. Contrary to what the name might suggest, the hut is not located directly at the dam, but in the middle of the forest.

The name of the hut says it all. Wonderful peace and quiet in beautiful nature and pure peace.
