A lovely rest area at the narrow point between Höftsee and Behler See... Just sit down and let nature work its magic.

We visited here in winter. It was very beautiful here, even at this time of year.

The forest path is partly gravelly and has large sand potholes. Not suitable for thin tires.

The bathing area at Behler See in Timmdorf attracts visitors with a large lawn and a fine stretch of sandy beach on the water's edge. It is a little hidden in a residential area, a few minutes' walk from the "Timmdorf" jetty on the 5-lakes tour. The bathing area is ideal for launching SUPs or canoes. Attention: The bathing area at Behler See in Timmdorf is unsupervised! An emergency call box is located directly at the bathing area. Animals and surfing are not allowed in the bathing area!

Anyone who wants to fish at Lake Behler can purchase guest cards. The issuing of guest cards is regulated privately by the local fishing officer, so it is worth calling in advance to obtain up-to-date information. Trolling is strictly prohibited on this body of water.

Coarse fish anglers will find some beautiful spots here that invite you to sit comfortably. The rod pod with the carp gear is just as worthwhile as the feeder rod. Due to the intensive aquatic vegetation, however, it is advisable to use method feeder systems so that the feed basket can be fished on the edge of the weed without snagging. Float rigs are also very suitable for this and can often lure surprising catches from the weed fields. It is particularly exciting to fish with a float from a boat on Lake Behler, because this is the best way to feed and fish gaps in the weed.

Lake Behler is considered a top predatory fish water. It has an extremely varied bottom structure with numerous mountains and shallows. If you have access to a depth sounder, your chances are better, as you can also find interesting bottom structures. This is where you make the big catches: pike over a meter, perch over 45 cm, and even the odd large zander can sometimes be tempted to bite. Pike spinning rods and jerkbait rods are particularly well suited to presenting shallow-running wobblers and surface baits over the weeds. But the top bait on Lake Behler is always the rubber fish, although local anglers keep the color and model to themselves; everyone has to gain experience for themselves.

Lake Behler is one of the smaller bodies of water in Holstein Switzerland near Malente. It is connected to the other bodies of water in the lake district and, like them, is also flowed through by the Schwentine. The banks are generally easily accessible, but there are only a few suitable places to fish on Lake Behler. That's why you should definitely plan to bring a boat here.
