The path from Alm Ellbogen to here is somewhat exposed in two passages. But a spectacular experience for people with a head for heights.

The path is particularly worthwhile in spring and autumn, when the many deciduous trees have no leaves and do not obscure the view of the canyon.

Unfortunately, the municipality of Wildhaus recently created a water intake in the ravine and widened the mountain path in the process. As a result, the path has lost some of its charm.

We were there at the end of October and unfortunately it was completely waterless. What a shame. But we'll be back

The Thur Falls are located near Unterwasser SG in the municipality of Wildhaus-Alt St. Johann in the canton of St. Gallen in Switzerland. The upper level is called the Upper Thurfall (Swiss waterfall number 16.1), the lower level is called the Lower Thurfall (Swiss waterfall number 16.2). The total height of the fall is 23 meters, of which 13 meters are the Upper Thurfall and 10 meters are the Lower Thurfall. The average discharge is 830 l/s. The catchment area of the Säntisthur at the waterfalls is 19.5 km2. After a long period of drought, especially in summer, the Thur Falls can dry out.
