As the name suggests, the path leads through the pit, in the hollow between the walls of the Gätterifirst and the Chreialpfirst. This route is technically easy to go. It is completely in the shade in the morning and in the sun in the afternoon, in the evening. In terms of views, it is not that special, but from Wildhaus it can be combined as a beautiful runtour over the Zwinglipass and Chreialpfirst and Mutschen and the view up to the imposing walls of the Gätterifirst is always fascinating.

A beautiful path that lives up to its name. It drags on, especially if your goal is the Musschensattel and you see again and again what you still have to do.
