The Hainichen Camera Obscura On June 23, 1883, the camera obscura, donated by a member of the Hainichen Beautification Society, was inaugurated on Rahmenberg hill. The simple, small wooden structure at ground level was moved a few meters from its original location in 1908 during the redesign of the park and placed on an octagonal, 5-meter-high base. Its poor condition and vandalism necessitated the complete demolition of this technical monument in 1982.
