石積みの土台の上に建つ、高さ28メートルの円形のレンガ造りの塔は、最も顕著な保存状態の良い建物です。98段以上の階段を上ると展望台にたどり着きます。尖頭アーチ型の高い入り口と、背面にあるトイレの張り出し窓が特徴的です。

Today, the restored castle houses a museum dedicated to the history of the house and the living culture of the Brandenburg landed gentry, using the example of the Gans Edlen Herren zu Putlitz family. Retzin belonged to the family Gans zu Putlitz. An estate economy existed here from the 17th century. The manor house was built under Eduard Gans Noble Lords zu Putlitz from 1815. The listed castle was bought by Lebenshilfe in 1992 and has been used as a dormitory for people with mental disabilities since 1995.
