The Karthane flows here in a large loop through the tranquil, beautiful landscape. It is a left tributary of the Stepenitz in the Prignitz district. Its course is 48 kilometers, and it has tributaries such as the Cederbach and a number of smaller streams and ditches. The Karthane's catchment area covers 436.8 km².

The landscape in this region is beautiful. The forests are crisscrossed by streams and ditches, and these wetlands offer lovely views of the flora and Fanau from the clearings.

A bridge leads over a small weir, over which the estate pond flows beneath the bridge. Very idyllic, a small biotope in a beautiful landscape.

A beautiful fieldstone church with a mighty tower. While the tower is partially obscured by oak leaves in summer, it still protrudes and can be found. The Protestant church was built in the second half of the 13th century. It is a single-nave church with a west tower. Inside, there is a pulpit altar dating from around 1700 and an epitaph from 1758.

A small but very beautiful timber-framed church, whose appearance is completely different from the fieldstone churches typical of the region. The short detour is well worth it! The rectangular nave of the timber-framed church was built in 1791. Its plastered panels are filled with bricks. The gable roof of the nave supports a square gable tower with a pyramidal roof on the west side.

Very nice hike through Kyritz and knatter

The massive, rectangular church tower was added in 1480/82 to the previous church, which had been demolished at the beginning of the 16th century. The roof structure of the subsequently rebuilt nave was dendrochronologically dated to 1514. The top floor of the church tower houses the bell cage behind the sound arcades designed as bifora. The stepped jambs of the windows and portals were constructed of rounded brick. The massive buttresses were added to the east wall of the nave only in the 18th/19th century. The gable has three rows of blind arches.
