Access to the gorge has been closed since last autumn. But you can pass it on the left .. no less impressive

Nice little gorge. Unfortunately, only 2/3 of the railing on the left side of the wooden stairs is missing. You have crossed the gorge in 5 minutes, and you can easily integrate it into the Spittelstein circular hiking trail. However, the signs on this route are sometimes poor.

The sinter terraces of Weißenbrunn are among the most impressive in northeastern Bavaria. The lime-rich water rises from the Lower Mushenkalk on the border with the Röt. The Birketsbach limestone tuff is in no way inferior to the famous deposits from the Pennickental near Jena and Crailsheim.
