The short, deeply cut valley has always been called this. It runs through the area from Proschwitz in the direction of Zscheila to Fürstengraben. The name Heiliger Grund goes back to a legend about Benno (Bishop of Meissen), who was associated with the valley. Bishop Benno is said to have often preached in the valley and also stayed there often. Once, when the people who had gathered around him became thirsty, Bishop Benno is said to have struck a rock with his bishop's staff, whereupon a spring sprung up at this point. Wildly romantic... hard to believe the force that raged here in 2002.

It's wonderful how nature awakens here.

Really inviting for hiking.

The Regenbachtal is actually very natural. There is a lot of broken wood to be seen, but in most cases it has already been cleared from the forest, at least over the paths.
