Agathenburg Castle: Agathenburg Castle in Agathenburg near Stade in northern Lower Saxony was the country estate of Count Hans Christoph von Königsmarck. The castle was built by Hans Christoph von Königsmarck immediately after the Thirty Years' War. Agathenburg Castle was built in 1655 by Hans Christoph von Königsmarck as a country estate and was the ancestral seat of the family until it fell to the Electorate of Hanover in 1740. Ownership changed hands frequently. After extensive renovations, the castle was reopened as a cultural center in 1991 and today houses a cultural foundation and a permanent exhibition.

A lovely rest area with a raised platform can be found in the Agathenburg Castle Park. You can enjoy a beautiful view of the surrounding countryside. Highly recommended. Several information panels in the castle courtyard tell the story of Agathenburg Castle. Hiking and cycling trails are nearby. A visit is highly recommended.

A visit to the Grauer Ort Bützfleth Fortress is both worthwhile and interesting. Events take place here throughout the year. The Christmas market with its amateur artists is particularly popular. Food and drink are provided. Homemade cakes and pastries, as well as bratwurst in a roll, are offered. Free restrooms are available in the fortress. A campervan parking space is located directly within the Grauer Ort Bützfleth Fortress. These spaces are very popular. Just a short walk over the dike and you're on the Elbe beach, which stretches for miles. During the summer months, a flea market takes place every first Sunday of the month. No registration is required if you would like to offer your wares here. A visit is recommended 👍.

Today was Heritage Day at Grauer Ort Bützfleth Fortress. Admission and guided tours of the fortress were free. A program was offered for children, and a gun salutation was demonstrated. Food and drink were provided, including delicious bratwurst and homemade cakes. Drinks were also available, of course. The weather cooperated, so it was a beautiful and interesting day at Grauer Ort Bützfleth Fortress. A visit is highly recommended 👍.

I passed by here on August 1, 1925, on my "Heist Airport" tour. I often drive past Düneck Castle.

A very beautiful old property

In 1985, the district of Stade took over the property. The restoration, carried out between 1990 and 1993, was significantly supported by the Lower Saxony Foundation.
