Dorschberger Hohl自然保護区では、最大15メートルの高さの黄土地層の壁が、ラインヘッセンの中心部に珍しいステップの風景を形成しています。急で開けた斜面には、ハネガヤやエリンギウム・カンペストレのような珍しい植物が育ち、割れ目や窪みには、壁トカゲやコモチコウモリが隠れ家を見つけます。

The ravines are a classic structural feature of the Rhine-Hessian landscape. They were created through centuries of agricultural use. The heavy carts dug deep grooves in the loosened soil and erosion from the water during heavy rain eroded the soil. If the grooves got too deep, they had to be smoothed out again.
