As long as the Bismarck Tower on the Taufstein remains closed, there's not much more to see from there. Otherwise, in my humble opinion, the highest point of the Sieben Ahorn isn't where the sign is.

From Monte Stehro, you get a pretty decent view, assuming there's no thunderstorm brewing.

Fantastic view from up here… but whether it will be enough for Frankfurt is up to the weather forecasters

One of the more recent volcanic eruptions… now a “hidden block dump”

The Gackerstein geotope near Schotten was created when magma rose and broke through existing rock units. The volcano that once belonged to it no longer exists. The forces of erosion have eroded it to such an extent that only the vent filling remains, which today appears as a dome. The Gackerstein is part of a larger fracture structure that made it possible for the magma to rise through the earth's crust. This structure runs from north to south, so that magma also reached the earth's surface elsewhere, for example the Bilstein near Schotten to the south and the Ulrichstein castle hill.

The Sieben Ahorn is around 753 m above sea level. NHN the third highest mountain in the Vogelsberg low mountain range in the Vogelsberg district in Hesse. The Sieben Ahorn rises in the upper forest of the Vogelsberg in the Vogelsberg Volcanic Region Nature Park. While most of its summit region lies in the urban areas of Ulrichstein and Schotten, its eastern slope falls into the urban area of Herbstein and the northeast slope falls into the municipal area of Lautertal. Its summit is located 3.6 km southeast of the Ulrichstein district of Feldkrücken, 3.9 km south of the Ulrichstein district of Rebgeshain, 3.6 km north-northeast of the Schotten district of Breungeshain, 5.1 km west-southwest of the Herbstein district of Lanzenhain and 5.1 km southwest of the Lautertal part of the community Eichelhain. So close to the sky at over 600 meters, the Hessian low mountain range makes it possible. A beautiful spot in the Vogelsberg.
