It's a shame, unfortunately the beer garden next to the closed restaurant has become a bit run down. Hopefully the new operator will invest properly and not just turn it into a pipe dream again. I hope this traditional restaurant doesn't suffer a similar fate to the Zeisigwaldschänke or even the Heideschänke, which has since been demolished. That would be fatal for the 2025 Capital of Culture!

During the construction of the railway line between Flöha and Freiberg at the end of the 19th century, a piece of the slope at the foot of the mountain was removed. This threw the natural system out of balance and led to a major landslide in 1897. Since then, people have called this area “Rutsch” or “Wandering Mountain”. Today there is a small shelter and benches above here. Unfortunately, the view is only special from the edge, because the trees at the hut are now too high. But a hike along here is still worth it. Also easy to connect with the old limestone caves nearby.

In the summer of 1886, the summit of the Adelsberg received a 20 meter high tower with a restaurant. Long before that, the court clerk Friedrich from Chemnitz had supported the project to build an observation tower on the highest elevation in the immediate vicinity of Chemnitz (509 m above sea level). The farmer was the landowner Theodor Haase from Kleinolbersdorf. "The new, beautiful and massive restoration building", it was said at the time, "lies in the middle of rich, shady coniferous trees.
