Worth seeing building with a nice walk

Always worth a trip. Worth seeing are the funicular, the old town and Augustusburg Castle with its museums. In my opinion, the motorcycle museum is particularly worth seeing because it focuses on the motorcycle industry in Saxony.

The Castle Church is considered by the city of Chemnitz to be a balcony because of its elevated position. After 1136, the Benedictines initially created a monastery on the mountain. The most important building: the Marienkirche. This did not always withstand the injustice and taste of the times. Destroyed, rebuilt and rebuilt several times, this church in Chemnitz is now considered the "most valuable building". Wildeck Castle, with its eventful history, offers a wonderful panoramic view of Zschopau and the surrounding area from the “Dicker Heinrich” observation tower. The first documented mention of a medieval fortification came from the year 1299; at the center of this complex is the Dicker Heinrich keep. Between 1545 and 1547, at the instigation of Duke Moritz, the later Elector of Saxony, the castle was converted into a hunting lodge in the Renaissance style. After an eventful history, Wildeck Castle now shines in new splendor. The castle houses the motorcycle exhibition MotorradTräume, which deals with the history of motorcycle construction in Zschopau. The Zschopau engine works with the DKW and MZ brands were once the largest in the world. The machines were not only indestructible but also very successful in racing.

The baroque castle of Lichtenwalde is picturesquely situated in the Zschopautal. The baroque garden with its winding paths and many water features invites you to linger. The castle is one of the "three worth seeing" (Augustusburg, Lichtenwalde Castle and Scharfenstein Castle).

There are changing exhibitions in the castle, concerts take place in the orangery and the park is also well worth seeing with its many water features.
