Lake Buldern is also called “Samsonsee” by locals after an old farm on the peninsula. The groundwater lake was created in 1977 by sand extraction for the construction of the nearby Autobahn 43. Today a recreational lake with a swimming area and well-developed paths.

People big and small can follow the bird footprints at the bird watching hut activity station and find out which of the guests passing through here lives on a large footing and which on a small one. This section of the path is part of the SteverLandRoute. It begins at the Rieselfelder in Appelhülsen with the hands-on station at the bird watching hut. From there the path leads along the Stever, which is partly designed to be close to nature, to Senden.
