Schwadorf Castle is a historic castle in the market town of Schwadorf in the Bruck an der Leitha district in Lower Austria. It was built in the 13th century and was owned by the Diocese of Passau for a long time. The castle is a two-story box building with unequal cross sections, a massive gate and an arbor with a stone balustrade. On the outside of the gate there is a coat of arms relief with the Austrian shield and the Passau coat of arms1. The castle is now owned by Dipl.-Ing. Richard Auer-Welsbach and will be partially converted into apartments. Schwadorf Castle is a cultural and architectural monument that is a reminder of the region's eventful history. It was also the epicenter of one of the strongest earthquakes in the Vienna Basin, which occurred on October 8, 1927 and damaged many buildings in Schwadorf and the surrounding area. The castle is freely accessible at any time and offers a beautiful view of the landscape and the Fischa.
