The site is large and clean. Tables and garden benches provide a pleasant place to relax and enjoy the natural surroundings. If the weather is bad, you can find accommodation in the small cabin. From here, you can quickly reach the castle ruins.

Beautiful rest area at Thyrstein

In the past, hungry and thirsty hikers could fortify themselves with bread and butter and a glass of milk at the Hundsrücken forester's lodge. The wives of the former foresters ran a hiking rest stop, where guests were provided with what the families produced for their own needs. The forester's lodge included a field, fruit trees, and a small pasture for cows and goats. A forester lived here until the 1950s. After that, the forest district lost its independence. Very nice break area

Unusual place. The fox hole was built by the workers as a shelter during the construction of the road. Clever!

New and so far clean shelter.

The Regenstein Fortress and its surrounding grounds are a lovely excursion through the forest for young and old, and there is so much to discover.
