Outside, you'll find one of the most beautiful adventure playgrounds in the Harz Mountains and a lovingly landscaped cabin garden, even with a view of the Brocken. Amidst a profusion of flowers, a wine made from the "SOLARIS" grape variety grows. The grapes were very sweet...it's produced and bottled by the Born am Süßen See winery. We also found the small and large decorative elements in the cabin garden very fascinating.

St. Catherine's Church was completed in 1360, but contains older parts. As a towerless Gothic hall church with a long choir, it corresponds to the type of mendicant order church. The three-aisled nave comprises five bays with four-track tracery windows. The three-bay choir closes polygonally and has a slender roof turret. The groin vaults are only preserved in the choir; the nave has a modern coffered ceiling. In the eastern nave bays, the Romanesque round arches between the central and side aisles are striking. In the forecourt of the church on the so-called "Halberstadt Bishop's Wall", which was designed by the Paderborn cathedral architect Kurt Matern (1884-1968), there is a bust of Pope Clement II.
