Charming hut, in the middle of the forest, you almost drive past it. Lovingly designed, historically grown outdoor area - and here the 0.5 liter beer (as of 07/2024) still costs €2.50! :-)

Older wooden sign with the inscription Ober Forstmeister Steinhäßer Schneise. It is probably a section of the high corridor from the refuge to the Gundweg intersection, as there is a similar sign just before Gundweg. The coat of arms of Hesse and a horseshoe can be seen at the bottom of the shield.

Intact wooden hut with seating. Interesting location in a triangle of paths between Lehmkautschneise and Stillbornweg. There are several nature conservation information boards in the immediate vicinity of the hut.
