Ideal meeting point in the old town.

Beware! Even if you take the longer route and climb the ladder, you'll have to pay €15 at the gate on your way back! A third of that amount would have been enough... It's a rip-off. Therefore, I don't recommend it.

The church, dedicated to the Madonna, is located relatively isolated outside the city, halfway up the castle. The church tower, with its dome and crowned with a cross, clearly towers over the church and, due to its prominent location, which affords visitors a beautiful view, is a defining feature of the landscape. The title "Unserer Lieben Frau" (Our Lady) for Mary is not very common in German, but is used in several other languages as a common form of address for the Mother of God.

The trail from Perast takes about two hours. It's quite challenging. It's very well signposted. The view from the top is beautiful. Guido and Martina from Italy

Beautiful old town, definitely worth a visit.

We hiked the stairs on May 31st. There were beautiful views on the way up—even if some people feel the need to throw their trash into the corners. The whole thing would be so much more beautiful without the trash. Kudos to the people selling chilled(!) drinks in the last third and at the very top. There's no elevator or cable car to transport the equipment there. We wouldn't want to hike the trail in the rain—the stones next to the stairs are very slippery.
