The Fishing Line Trail is a rail trail that connects Rome City and Kendallville. The trail is paved and runs along a tree-lined former railway corridor. It connects several parks and runs up to the Lake in Rome City.

Built in 1873, and part of the National Historic Registry, this 150 year old covered bridge is the only one remaining in Dekalb County. If you ride over the bridge watch that the spaces between the planks doesn't grab your tire!

Lawton Park was purchased in 1866 with the intention of turning it into a fairground. Today the park has sports fields, trails, and an old historic fort with cannons and reenactments.

Salomon Farm was donated in 1996. Today it is a beautiful park with a covered bridge, old barns, and well maintained paved trail that connects to the Pufferbelly Trail by the YMCA.
