The climb begins in a forest with a gradient of about 6% and then leads across a plain with wide fields. After Gornhausen, the road continues partly through forest before becoming steeper. This section is particularly challenging, with gradients of up to 15%. The highest point is reached near two transmission towers, but there are no views.
